What is the difference between mixing and mastering?

Mixing is the intricate process of combining and balancing individual tracks to achieve a harmonious and enhanced overall sound. Following this, mastering serves as the final step, where these mixed tracks are polished to sound consistent, professional, and ready for distribution. Both these processes blend technical skill with artistic judgement to ensure a professional and impactful final product.

What are stems?

Stems refer to exports of each individual track in your session, available with or without effects. ‘Dry Stems’ are tracks exported without any effects or processing, providing a clean, unaltered sound. ‘Wet Stems’, on the other hand, include tracks with effects and processing such as reverb, delay, compression, and more, adding depth and texture to the sound.
